I’m standing in my studio (aka my kitchen table, because adulting is overrated), holding a paintbrush like I know what I’m doing, and I’ve just painted a happy little blob on the glass of a picture frame. Not the canvas. Not the wall. The glass. Like, full-on Picasso-meets-rebel-without-a-canvas energy.
And guess what? It worked. I kind of liked it.
Welcome to my new obsession of painting on glass—where the art isn’t just in the frame, it’s on the frame.
And the background? The background IS the story. I slip colored paper behind the painting like I’m giving my art a mood ring so you can customize the background. I include extra colored paper with select pieces (or you can use your own—go wild, it’s your wall). It’s customizable art that actually lets you customize it. Not just “pick your frame color” — nah. I’m talking change the whole mood with a piece of paper. It’s like magic, but cheaper and less likely to summon a demon. Want your art to match your couch? Swap the paper. Hosting a dinner party and need some vibe? Slide in some gold shimmer. Break up with someone? Go full black. Paint your own abstract and slip it in the back. Perfection.
Seriously though—this isn’t just art. It’s art with options. Art with personality. Art that changes its mind (and its background) as often as I do.
P.S. If you buy one, name it. I named mine “Barry.” He’s blue today.
As always I want to mention my art is live at The Muskegon Market and Mercantile in Muskegon, Michigan.
